Multi-light 2.5D prototype
Four directional clay relights estimate surface normals, while a soft foreground mask drives a small depth response. Move a pointer across the frame to inspect the prototype.
Normal estimate: left/right luminance differences drive X, top/bottom drive Y, then a positive Z is normalized.
Mask heuristic: foreground separation is inferred locally from the clay image’s corner-background color.
This is an approximate visual study, not production-grade reconstruction. It does not solve true geometry, calibrated lighting, materials, or clean segmentation.
